vitaHexenII v2.2 Released


Rinnegatamante has released an updated version of his Hexen II game engine for the Sony Playstation Vita. vitaHexenII is a port for PSVITA of Hexen II, a popular dark-fantasy fps created by Raven Software using a modified version of Quake Engine. It's based on vitaQuake core and it shares a lot of features with it.

What's New?

- Properly aligned some voices in Options menu that were misaligned.
- Fix for some settings not saving in config.cfg.
- Fix for "Reset to Defaults" voice not working as intended.
- Re-added Brightness setting in Options menu now fully working.
- Added gyroscope support for camera movement.
- Optimized some maths related code with ARM neon instructions.
- Added cel shading support. (Available in Options menu)
- Huge renderer code optimization.

- Added MSAA support (MSAA 2x and MSAA 4x selectable in Options menu). [Requires game restart]
- Added uma0 support for data files.
- Improved water rendering (removed waterwarp effect and added waterriple effect).
- Enabled extended memory mode (Extra 109 MB available for the engine).
- Updated to latest vitaGL version (vitaGL recently enabled access to extra 28 MB).
- Added lower resolution support (480x272, 640,x368, 720x408) selectable in Options menu. [Requires game restart]
- Added Dynamic Shadows setting in Options menu.
- Added V-Sync setting in options menu.
- Added Bilinear Filtering setting in options menu.

- Now CDAudio tracks can be provided in .ogg and .mp3 format.
- Moved the renderer to hardware accelerated vitaGL one. (Meaning game now has stable 60 fps)
- Removed resolution rescaler, resolution is now hardcoded to 960x544.
- Removed gamma and depth of field settings cause related to the old software renderer.
- Added a Show Framerate option in Options menu to enable/disable a framerate counter.
