The Atmosphere CFW Supports v9.0.0, But There's A Problem ...

SciresM the author of The Atmosphere CFW has tweeted that there has been some major changes to the way firmware v9.0.0 handles controller input and has run into a roadblock. He and some other higher level developers have yet to come up with a solution to this problem, but theorize that every single homebrew application would have to be recompiled before it will work on v9.0.0. The good news is that The Atmosphere CFW does indeed support v9.0.0 and a new version will be released soon.

In the meantime SciresM is going to package The Atmosphere CFW with a HID plugin that will redirect the input to use your old homebrew until the various authors of said homebrew have the time to recompile them to use a newer version of libnx that fixes support with HID devices.

Well, Atmosphere more or less fully supports 9.0.0...but 9.0.0 apparently changed HID state population in a way that causes all libnx homebrew to fail to see button presses.

Update will be delayed a day or two while we decide the best way to deal with that... (1/2)

... since there's not much point in being able to boot into the OS if you can't hold buttons for overrides and HBL can't see what buttons you're pressing anyway.

Once libnx is updated, all existing homebrew that uses controller input will need to be recompiled...

9.x update: as a stopgap measure, Atmosphere's support update will add a mitm that fixes the HID initialization issue. We'll remove it in a future Atmosphere release, after devs have had some time to re-compile their homebrew without having to rush.
