JKSV 03.21.2020

JKSV is a fast and simple save game manager for your homebrew enabled Nintendo Switch hybrid video gaming console. JKSV allows you to backup and restore your save game data without the need to spend money on Nintendo's online service which has limited capabilities on what you can do and not do with the data.

it's been over 2 and a half months that JKSV had not been updated, its developer JDK, creator of JKSM, has just updated its Switch version, as you know it is a backup manager for Switch. This manager allows you to export and import backups, but also to view their backup properties.

JK has released a new version of his save game manager for homebrew enabled Nintendo Switch video gaming consoles. In addition to letting you backup and restore normal save games JKSV has already had support for System Saves, BCAT and Device Saves thus allowing you to backup and restore saves from the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons game (as no other save manager will allow this).

There are also customization options: you can change the background by simply placing an image in .jpg renamed "back.jpg", resolution 1280 * 720p, on the micro SD in SD: /JKSV/back.jpg, or again change the font of the text by putting a font file in .ttf renamed "font.ttf" in SD: /JKSV/font.ttf.

The tool also allows you to download NAND, perform targeted searches in the backup status file system, discard firmware updates not yet installed, and perform searches in BIS memory.

Changelog quick update:

- Dev. Sv has been renamed Device and is moved higher in the user selection
- Just a quick update for convenience since the developer will rework the GUI of Freebird and adapt it to JKSV as much as possible. It is difficult to assess when it will actually be available.
JKSV on Switch started as a small project/port to test some things and get familiar with libnx. A list of what it currently can do:

1.  Dump and restore save data.
    *   This includes the ability to dump and restore to/from any location on SD by pressing minus and using the Advanced Mode.
2.  Dump system save data
    *   Pressing all four shoulder buttons at once will rescan and include the previously unlisted system saves.
    *   Dumping this data is allowed, but writing back is not.
3.  Open and explore bis storage partitions via the Extras menu
    *   BIS Storage is opened inside a basic filebrowser. The partition's listing is on the left. Your SD is on the right.
    *   Only copying to SD and file properties work on BIS partitions. Writing to and deleting are disabled for now.
4.  Misc Extras:
    *   NAND Dumping
    *   Ability to remove downloaded firmware updates from NAND.
    *   Terminating processes by [ID](https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Title_list#System_Modules). Allowing you to dump normally unopenable system archives.
    *   Mount by System Save [ID](https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Flash_Filesystem#System_Savegames). Normally used when the terminated process makes JKSV unable to rescan titles without the Switch crashing.
