Vice3DS v2.3 Released

Vice3DS v2.3

Badda has released a new version of Vice3DS which is a port of the VICE C64 (Versatile Commodore Emulator) for your homebrew enabled New Nintendo 3DS portable video gaming console. The Commodore 64, also known as the C64 or the CBM 64, is an 8-bit home computer introduced in January 1982 by Commodore International.

Vice3DS can only run on a N3DS because it needs the extra CPU power (runs on 804MHz).

Extract the archive to the root of your SD card and run vice3ds in HBL.

Preconfigured button functions:
Select: open Vice menu
Shoulder left: Open virtual keyboard
Start: quit emulator

The Circle Pad and X-Button are mapped to Joystick Port 1
The Directional Pad and A-Button are mapped to Joystick Port 2
This (and a lot of other things) can be changed in the Vice menu (Machine settings -] Joystick settings -] Swap joystick ports)

Vice3DS can only run on a N3DS because it needs the extra CPU power (runs on 804MHz).

DSP-dump is required for sound to work correctly

Installation (upgrading):

As always - if you're updating from a previous version, make sure to delete the config directory on your SD-card /3ds/vice3ds/config before starting the emulator. Otherwise new config settings, hotkeys and key mappings will not be updated and will not work.

Apart from this, a DSP-dump is required for sound to work correctly.

-enhancement: auto switch to (hopefully) correct joyport/control scheme when starting a game in gamebase64 launcher
