Dualboot Firmware 4.86

littlebalup has released its firmware 4.86 Dualboot. This firmware, which can only be used by current PS3 users with Custom Firmware, is an idea originally conceived by Habib several years ago. The objective of this form of firmware was to give users of Custom Firmware a safe way to go online (such as playing games on disc) by minimizing the risk of ban while retaining the possibility of installing the CFW.

The Dualboot firmware (DB) is nothing other than the official firmware (OFW), the only difference therefore comes from this possibility of being able to install a CFW 4.86.
Compatibility:

Any PS3 already using custom CEX firmware

Characteristics :

- Created from OFW 4.86 (CEX)
- All the features of OFW 4.86 (CEX)
- Size and structure of CoreOS files identical to those of OFW
- Same size and structure of PUP as OFW
- Isoldr and spu_pkg_rvk_verified and corrected to allow the installation of any CFW 4.86 or higher (CEX)

Installation:

- Rename the file "DB_4.86_littlebalup.PS3UPDAT.PUP" to "PS3UPDAT.PUP".
- On a USB storage device formatted in FAT32, create a folder named "PS3". In this PS3 folder, create another folder named "UPDATE".
- Copy the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" file into the "UPDATE" folder that you have just created.
- Check the MD5 signature of the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" file that you just copied in the "UPDATE" folder.
- Connect the USB storage device to your PS3 then install via [Settings] -> [System update] -> [Update via the storage medium].
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
