PCSX-R for PS4 (07/17/2019) Released

markus95 has released a compiled version of PCSX-R for PS4 which is a native port of the Sony PlayStation 1 emulator PSCX-Reloaded for your homebrew enabled Sony PlayStation 4 video gaming console. Znullptr, who has abandoned this project ported the emulator natively as it doesn't run under the PS2 emulator, therefore it has better performance.

The emulator is still in beta and a Github page should be online shortly for anyone that would like to continue to develop this emulator. While various versions of this emulator have been floating around the scene Markus95 released this version with permission of Znullptr, therefore it's semi-official in nature.

Indeed, PSCX-R will only be able to execute one iso at a time, you will need each time, replace your rom on your USB key to change the game.

In addition, cinematics rament and sound saccade (preview in the video below), it is here the second beta version which includes bugs and does not work at 100%, the saves do not work either at recent news. Some games are still playable like Tekken for example. Some games are however not compatible, unfortunately Znullptr abandons the development of its emulators, PSCX-R will not be updated by the latter. The source code will be published on Github when it is cleaned, hoping that other devs continue to improve this emulator that could become indispensable for retro PS1 lovers.

Instructions

- Install the fpkg PSX.pkg

- Copy / paste your rom in .bin format to the root of your USB key by renaming it game.bin

- Copy / paste by FTP memcard.mcr in data / pcsxr / ... (optional because the saves do not work)

- Launch PSCX-R from your PS4 menu

- Your game starts
